Celebrate 150 years of Isle of Wight Railways

 Isle of Wight

Steam Railway Private Charter Day

October 13th  2012

I am pleased to announce a special private charter day at the award winning Isle of Wight Steam Railway, where I hope to offer, during the course of the day, a variety of more unusual train formations and recreations.

The day will feature TWO locomotives, W24 "Calbourne" the sole surviving Adams 02, and one of the two island based Terriers, either W8 "Freshwater", or possibly W11 "Newport" in its new Southern green livery if restoration is complete.

I hope to be able to include:

A1X Terrier with four wheel push - pull set, an authentic recreation of a Ventnor West train.

W24 "Calbourne" with short bogie set in RED livery, an authentic recreation of a lighter mid 50s island train. (This hasn't been done before)

Freight trains

Double headed finale hauled by 02 and Terrier with the bogie stock.

The day is not specifically a photographic charter event, although there will be photo opportunities during the day, but the idea is to enjoy our own celebration of 150 years of the island's railways. (The Cowes and Newport Railway opened in 1862)

Tickets are £65, and the day is limited to just 60 participants, who will enjoy exclusive use of the railway with free tea / coffee for the day. Not cheap, but we are paying for two locomotives to be steamed for us!

**Tickets booked before 10th February are offered at £60.**
