A SUSSEX RAMBLE, April 24th / 25th

Last year we discovered the Inglenook Hotel, which dates from the 16th century, in the village of Nyetimber, near Pagham, and thought it would be an ideal base for another weekend break.

OUTLINE ITINERARY

We leave the island via the Fishbourne ferry route, and after our mainland pick up at Portsmouth amble eastwards via Emsworth and Funtington to the award winning Weald and Downland museum at Singleton, where many historic buildings have been rescued and rebuilt.

Later we return through Chichester to our hotel at Nyetimber,

After breakfast on Sunday morning we drive to Amberley Museum, a leading museum of industrial history in the south. We continue to the old station at Petworth, for an afternoon cream tea before our drive back to Portsmouth.
