NORFOLK STEAM
After an interval of several years it is time to return to Norfolk, an area with a rich variety of steamy heritage.
OUTLINE ITINERARY
Thursday) We leave the island via the Fishbourne ferry route, and after our Portsmouth pick up point we amble northwards to Norwich and our hotel. Additional pick up points may be possible enroute by arrangement.
Friday) To Aylsham for the narrow gauge Bure Valley railway, then on to the museum of the Broads, with possibly a cruise aboard the steam launchFalcon.
Saturday) Off to Sheringham today today for the North Norfolk Railway, and a tour of the coastal area.
Sunday) A day tour to the East Anglian Transport Museum at Carlton Colville near Lowestoft, where we will be able to enjoy an assortment of trams and trolleybuses.
Monday) A pilgrimage to Walsingham, and a ride to the seaside resort of Wells by narrow gauge steam.
Tuesday) A free day in the historic city of Norwich, with time to enjoy the cathedral, its very attractive close, and maybe the castle.
Wednesday) Time to journey home.
We will be based at the Oaklands Hotel, which we have used on many occasions over the years, and which is situated at Thorpe St Andrew, just east of the city centre.
Tour price is £695 per person sharing twin or double room, with £90 single supplement if required. The tour price includes travel with our vintage coach, six nights dinner bed and breakfast accommodation, and entrances as outlined. There are only twenty places available for the tour. £100 per person deposit to confirm a booking please.
