I would like to invite you to join a small group for a very special tour of the southern Harz region by a superbly preserved horse drawn Post Coach.
OUTLINE ITINERARY
Wednesday) Morning departure by Eurostar to Brussels, thence ICE to Frankfurt, and then with one further change at Gottingen to Nordhausen
Thursday) Free time in Nordhausen, with the opportunity to head northwards by narrow gauge, explore the tram system or perhaps visit the wartime tunnels used in the production of rockets on the outskirts of the town. Nordhausen has preserved stretches of old town walls and the cathedral is worth a visit. Later we continue to medieval Stolberg, and the Posthalterei, the starting point of our post coach.
Friday - Sunday) We enjoy a tour through villages of the southern Harz region by traditional horse drawn Post Coach.
Monday) We travel to Quedlinburg, with the afternoon and evening free to enjoy this town of wonderful old buildings. Our base for two nights is the Domschatz Hotel, a building dating from 1789 and situated near the castle.
Tuesday) Time to enjoy the narrow gauge, perhaps visiting the town of Harzgerode.
Wednesday) The return journey home, via Halberstadt, Hannover and Koeln.
