A NEW ADDITION TO THE COACH FLEET!

CDL 792 is a Bedford WTB with Duple 26 seat coachwork, new in 1939 to the Isle of Wight firm of Shotters, with whom it stayed until early 1970. It then passed through several mainland owners, before reaching Lancashire in the early 1990s. It returned to the island at the end of September, after an absence of nearly forty years. The coach is in remarkable condition, with original interior trim, and full length "concertina" style sunroof. This is the oldest surviving island registered bus or coach in restored condition, and we hope to have it recertified for hire during 2010.

Meanwhile, CCF 648 is in the paintshop. Last painted in 1980, the finish was beginning to look tired, and we have taken the opportunity to rebuild the wings as necessary, and replace some offside lower timber framing.

At last CCF has emerged into daylight, and whilst there are still a number of small jobs to finish she should be ready for next season.
