Our first Christmas Market tour 2008 will be centred in Nuremberg, home of one of the finest of Germany’s festive markets. We will also visit the delightful medieval walled city of Rothenburg, home of the Christmas Museum, and steam between Ebermannstadt and Behringsmuhle with St Nikolaus aboard. If you wish you can also visit the German National Railway Museum in Nurnberg.
OUTLINE ITINERARY
Thursday) Morning departure by Eurostar from St Pancras to Brussels, continuing to Koeln, and thence by ICE train to Nurmberg
Friday) We visit the medieval walled town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a fairy tale timewarp, which houses the German Christmas Museum as well as hosting its own Christmas Market
Saturday) To Ebermannstadt for a steam hauled journey to Behringsmuhle
Sunday) A day to enjoy Nuremberg, the Market, and if you wish, to visit the National Railway Museum
Monday) Morning departure by ICE to Koeln, thence onward to Brussels for late afternoon Eurostar back to London.
OUR HOTEL
We shall be staying for four nights at the Ibis Nurnberg City, and tour price is £565 per person sharing twin / double room , with £90 single room supplement if required. Hotel accommodation is arranged on a bed and breakfast basis, thus allowing the opportunity to enjoy local restaurants.
