Following our first tour in 2008 we have decided to offer another tour based in Buckingham, a quiet town situated on the River Ouse, and our itinerary includes a variety of interests. We shall use a vintage coach for the tour, and therefore numbers are limited.
OUTLINE ITINERARY
Thursday) We leave the island and trundle towards Buckingham, arriving at our hotel during the afternoon. Mainland pick up points at Portsmouth, and by arrangement, en route for other rail connections.
Friday) A visit to Station X, at Bletchley Park, the centre of codebreaking activity during World War II
Saturday) To Leighton Buzzard for a private charter train on the narrow gauge line, and a visit to the Milton Keynes Museum, where exhibits range from the hall of transport to the reconstruction of Wolverton Works boardroom.
Sunday) A visit to The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre at Quainton Road, followed by a visit to Mike Sutcliffe’s private collection of early Leyland buses. This collection, which is not normally open to visitors, is probably the most important collection of early motor buses in the UK, and a truly remarkable restoration achievement.
Monday) Time to journey home.

We have chosen the 3 star Buckingham Beales Hotel. Tour price is £545 to include travel by vintage motor coach, four nights dinner bed and breakfast hotel accommodation, and admissions as outlined. A LIMITED number of single rooms are available at a supplement of £75.
